Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia have decided to part ways with their singer Ailyn. Ailyn joined
the band in 2008. Spanish vocalist and Sirenia recorded together four albums: The 13th Floor (2009),
The Enigma of Life (2011), Perils of the Deep Blue (2013) and The Seventh Life Path (2015).
About the departure they released the following statement:
“We part ways on good terms and we wish Ailyn the best of luck for her future endeavours. Thanks a
lot for the great years we shared in the band and thanks for all your efforts in this period, we are
forever grateful. It has been a true delight and privilege working with you, may all your dreams be
fulfilled and may your future shine. “
According to the band´s statement, both sides are on good terms, although you can read on Ailyn´s
Facebook page that the decision was not hers and she didn´t take part in it. Several rumors and
interesting theories on the band´s line-up change are running on the internet right now, to which
band reacts: "There are way more complex things behind this decision, things that would make a
further cooperation impossible. With respect to Ailyn`s privacy we will not go into any further details
Before the big announcement, the band had to cancel their show at Metalfest in Czech Republic due
to Ailyn´s health situation. The show in Kherson, Ukraine was played with a session singer
Sirenia is in the process of engaging a new singer and will spend the next months finishing their
upcoming album. They will be on European headliner tour in November with support acts Týr,
Unleash The Archers, Xaon and Relicseed.
