Red Hot Chili Peppers were supposed to play at KROQ Weenie Roast Festival in Irvine, California as headliner.
Vocalist Anthony Kiedis was suffering from extreme pain in his stomach which occured a few hours before the band was supposed to go on stage.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital.
Red Hot Chili Peppers had the following to say about this:
“Anthony is on his way to the hospital right now and we're unable to play for you this evening, we are devastated about it. We’re really sad, we love you so much. We live to rock. We live to fucking dig deep into the depths of our heart and rock. But unfortunately, there’s a medical thing that happened and he needed to deal with it."
To compensate for the absence of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer played a bigger set.
