Today's Track of the Day is “Paranoia” off of A Day To Remember's latest album, Bad Vibrations. Unlike some of their past other songs, "Paranoia is a heavy yet fast paced song for the band.
Paranoia is known as a "mental condition characterized by delusions of persecution, unwarranted jealousy, or exaggerated self-importance, typically elaborated into an organized system" according to Dictionary.com. It may also show an aspect of chronic personality disorder or schizophrenia in which the person loses touch with reality.
With lyrics such as, "I count the clock cause' I can't fucking sleep" and "The doctor says I'm headed for destruction / Something's gotta give / I'm like a time bomb ticking in your head / Paranoia clouding your judgement / And no matter what you do about it, about it, about it / I'm still in your head," sung by vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, we feel like he got the definition of what paranoia can feel like for some people spot on.
What we love about this heavy fast pace song is not only that it's exceedingly catchy, but it also talks about the issues, such as paranoia, that not everyone speaks about. Whether the person listening to the song knows the definition of paranoia or not, they can definitely relate to in some way and realize that they aren't alone.
