We have noticed that we are very much drawn towards new releases lately, but honestly, can you blame us considering all the good new music 2017 has seen so far? We thought so. On that note, Betraying The Martyrs have released their latest album "The Resilient" earlier this year and we are particularly fond of its title track. From the first second, it becomes very clear that the album is centered around unity and resistance and this track, as a title track usually does, manages to represent that general theme very well. Kicking off with a music that almost resembles to historical/medieval themed drama films and tv shows (in other words: might as well be straight out of Game of Thrones), the song carries a certain type of energy that is mainly associated with war and rebellion and for that, well, you need resilience. The powerful introduction turns into well done unclean vocals, while the music surrounding it remains heavy and very drum based, fitting for a track like this. Maybe the theme is one of the many reasons why experiencing this song live is rather special. And apparently the band thought so too, as they have just released a music video for it, featuring footage from their recent performance at this year's Hellfest. So if you've always wondered what a Betraying The Martyrs live show looks like, click here, and if you're just here for the music, feel free to stream "The Resilient" below!
